BEN WATSON PSYCHOTHERAPY
Welcome to my practice
I wholeheartedly believe the greatest and most freeing gifts you can give yourself are self-exploration and compassion. Together, we can work collaboratively to further develop these qualities and foster your innate resilience. My desire is for you to feel safe, challenged, and empowered during our time together. The sheer fact that you are seeking support demonstrates immense strength.
As a psychotherapist, I aim to create a non-judgmental, open-minded, and secure environment for patients to explore their feelings candidly and honestly. My areas of clinical experience/specialities include:
Deep grief and loss
Sexual and gender identities (2SLGBTQIA+)
Religious trauma and spiritual identity
Sexual abuse
Depression and anxiety
Complex family dynamics
Life transitions
Interpersonal relationship conflicts
Hopelessness and isolation
Complex trauma and shame

My work is grounded in psychodynamic therapy, emphasizing how past and present experiences shape patterns, internal narratives, and relational dynamics. In utilizing a psychodynamic approach, we will be able to grow in self‑awareness, explore unconscious patterns, and engage more empathetically with your internal world. I use an integrated therapeutic approach, incorporating relational psychoanalysis, attachment theory, internal family systems, object relations, child development, and acceptance and commitment therapy.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Associate (SC61511844) in the State of Washington. I received my graduate training from the University of Oklahoma and my undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University.
My therapeutic work began working with individuals who had experienced childhood sexual abuse and continued at a grief center, leading groups for individuals navigating loss and divorce. Now, in private practice, my work is with adults experiencing a wide array of topics including sexual abuse, complicated grief, religious trauma, anxiety, family conflict, depression, loss, and identify exploration.
I am deeply committed to continual growth and am a member of the Northwest Alliance for Psychoanalytic Study and Shelterwood Collective. I am under the supervision of Stuart Brewster, LMHC, and participate in a consultation group lead buy Olivia Bowker, LCSW. I have and continue to undergo my own personal therapy.
